Management and executive coaching

Coaching is likely the most effective form of personal and professional development. Its positive effect is highly visible in sports, where they help athletes to reach their true potential. In business, coaching as a culture or as a way to enhance effectiveness of individuals and executives is gaining popularity as well. Coaching is not limited to top-executives. It is for example a more effective way of making leaders out of your middle and higher management than standard training.

Benefits of coaching

Both individuals and organizations benefit from coaching. For individuals, it improves effectiveness and performance in the job, brings higher targets or goals within reach or enables a better use of talents and potential.

Coaching further helps to develop self-awareness, create clarity in role and objectives, improve specific skills or behaviors, helps to identify work related issues and develop the coachee to take on more responsibilities.

For the organizations, coaching helps to increase the productivity and performance by better usage of the available potential, increases the creativity, learning and knowledge levels and most importantly demonstrates a commitment to the development of the employee.

Last but not least: coaching intrinsically motivates!

Our approach

Coaching top executives, higher management or middle managers require different approaches. For middle managers, the approach typically is a mixture of coach, teach and mentor with assignments, actions and follow up to apply the new insights in practice.

For higher managers and executives the sessions are conducted in a sparring setup, provoking thoughts, inspiring creativity, providing fresh perspectives, enhancing the thinking and decision making skills with an aim to maximize the professional potential and interpersonal effectiveness.

To guide the coaching sessions, we use inputs from appraisals, 360-degree feedback, surveys or feedback from superiors. This helps to put the finger on the real issues. In case of higher managers and executives and after explicit agreement, observation arrangements can be made to assess for example behaviors that affect interpersonal effectiveness.

In short, our individually tailored approach pivots around “who is coached” and “what is to be achieved”. Generally, an intake session is the first step to assess if the coach-coachee relationship “clicks” and to set the stage. Sessions are typically 1.5 hour and cover a three or six month period on a weekly or bi-weekly base, preferable face to face with video or conference call as an alternative.

Note that on request we can do team coaching, facilitation and “coach the coaches”.

Our double niche

Our first niche is high tech B2B industries: semiconductor, electronics, mechatronics, software engineering, or more general, industries in which the products and services are “technical by nature”.

Our second niche is in sales, marketing, service and development. The two niches are not a limitation and is not an exclusion of research, finance, administration, B2C, FMCG or others, but merely a recognition of our strengths and where we can be most helpful.

We belief a good understanding of our client’s business, helps to get faster and better results. We do not claim to be experts though.  Like in sports, whilst the coach may not have been a practitioner at the same top level as his coachees, his experience in the same or similar sports allows him to better and faster understand issues and hence better guide his coachees to higher performance.

Affordable fees and ROI

Even if your company already has a coaching culture, it may be advantageous for various reasons to bring in an objective external coach.  Logically though, this comes at an external cost.

While the benefits of coaching are clear, there is the question of return on investment. In addition to the intangible business impacts, studies have shown ROI’s in the range from 5.2 to 7.8x for executive coaching.

Our fees are affordable and we are happy to discuss with you the details of the arrangements and help you with comparisons with for example standard training courses.
